Every fourth person over 55 years of age has already become the victim of fraudsters. Particularly successful methods to trick older, but also younger people, involve phishing and dubious phone calls.

A representative Pro Senectute study has found that older people are a popular target for online criminals. The most wide-spread scams involve dubious business practices which exploit older people’s good faith.

In addition to the sale of unwanted services, the most common types of fraud committed in Switzerland mainly involve phishing attacks, faked websites and dubious telephone calls.

You should always stay alert at home, when you’re out and about and in particular on the Internet. Protect yourself with our tips against phishing.
